Internal Social Service Project - Season of LOVE
Service Corner
The Ordinary – a group of people
who suffer from Mental Retardation but still live their life
Crazy guys, lunacy, morons, you may have
called them with these extremely impolite words. However, they are just as ordinary
as all of us. People who suffer from Mental Retardation can still chat, walk,
smile and work with just a slight impaired cognitive functioning. Receiving so
a bunch of discrimination from community, society, and the whole world, they
are forced to give up themselves, their dreams.
Caritas Hong Kong, as a major charitable organisation in Hong Kong, has been expanding itself to relief and rehabilitation services since its establishment. The Lok Hang Workshop in Yau Ma Tei acts as a sheltered workshop to this group of ordinary. It aims at providing a chance for them to master their abilities and to integrate into our society. In this service, HKOSA serves as a welcoming hand from society to let them feel they are part of Hong Kong, but not being isolated.
Please do not hesitate and join the service. As a member of HKOSA, if you are interested in the service, please fill in the form in the following link. Details of the service have been provided through email. We sincerely thank for your kindness and support.
